This handmade edition brings together photographs of the ninety nine soap carvings, that were exhibited at the 250th Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. Beside each image, you'll find a short story; providing further insight to the language, objects and spaces found in prison culture.

The book is 218 pages, covered and hand-bound, with the same fabrics commonly used to make prison bed sheets and visitation clothing.

An Inside Story can be found in private collections as well as the Arts University Bournemouth, University of Sunderland and The National Art Library at the V&A Museum. The book is used across twenty-five prisons as part of a programme developed by the Shannon Trust, a charity which helps thousands of people in prison each year to learn how to read.
