Soap Carving Workshop
HMP Spring Hill
In collaboration with Drawing Connections
16th October 2019

Drawing Connections, funded by Arts Council England, is a project bringing together residents at HMP Spring Hill with students from the local Banbury and Bicester College in a series of artist-led workshops held at HMP Spring Hill.

The project aims to forge connections, through art, between Spring Hill residents and members of the local community who might not otherwise meet, building confidence and creating networks of support as members of Spring Hill embark on their reintegration back into society.

Over eight weeks from October to December, inmates, staff and students practiced photography, printmaking, creative writing, drawing, willow weaving and soap carving.
